Module 6 Part 1: Bivariate and Choropleth Mapping

 

To create a proportional symbol map with negative values, you must create two separate layers with the same proportional sizes for the values represented, but because shapes cannot represent negative values, absolute values must be used. However, differentiation between the two sets of values can be represented by separate colors for positive and negative values. The legend in this case is important for demonstrating which values are represented by which colors.
