Module 1.3: Data Quality Assessment

 

For this assignment, we used a grid network to determine the difference in completeness of road networks. To begin the assessment, we snipped the roadworks to the grid with the input of Tiger and centerline, and the clip value of grid using the cut tool. The summarize within tool can then be used to on the input summary values of tiger and centerline with the input polygon of grid. 2 polygons are produced with separate summary values for the length of each type of value. I then performed a table join with the GRIDID values as the join factor, and rename each set of individual summary statistics. Export table to excel, then determine the number of values in each category. After creating those summary statistics, I created a new column and calculated the difference between the values and created a percentage which I then used graduated symbology to display.
